ABOUT THE POSITION
Our client is Sweden's largest steel service center and constantly strives to improve its operations. As a purchaser, you will be part of a team of about five people and will work with the procurement of goods and services for the company. You will collaborate with other departments to understand the company's needs and find suppliers who can deliver high-quality products and services at the right price and time. The work takes place on-site in Arendal during daytime, but there is also the possibility to work flexibly and remotely a few days a week. The assignment is a temporary position for about 1 year, with employment through us at Academic Work. You are expected to be an important part of supporting the team and contributing to achieving the company's goals of continuous improvement and growth.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities
In your role as a Purchaser, you will actively work with operational purchasing for several production units in the Nordic countries. Purchasing optimization, planning, efficiency, and follow-up will be daily tasks where you will drive analysis and action activation cross-functionally within the organization. You will have great freedom and responsibility to map the overall perspective in our processes and actively drive improvements. The role includes working together with other functions within the company.
- Operational purchasing of steel for several production units in the Nordic countries
- Planning, follow-up, and optimization of purchasing flows including MDM (material master data)
- Analysis of forecasts/orders, delivery precision, inventory, and cost development
- Identify, drive, and follow up on improvement and efficiency initiatives
- Cross-functional collaboration with production, planning, suppliers, and other support functions
- Contribute to the development of purchasing processes from a holistic perspective
WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO
- Have a relevant academic degree in Supply Chain Management or similar.
- Experience in operational purchasing, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
- Good knowledge of steel materials and their properties.
- Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Experience working with business systems such as SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Experience negotiating and building good supplier relationships.
