About the Department

The Dependency Department offers specialized care for individuals with substance use disorders, with or without psychiatric comorbidity.

We operate in a modern matrix organization where our two dependency clinics – Hisingen and Olskroken – collaborate closely with the Resource Clinic for Dependency.

The department also includes:

• Four LARO clinics
• Three Mini Maria clinics
• Clinic for gambling addiction and screen health
• Nordhemskliniken with alcohol outpatient clinic, drop-in, and inpatient care
• Three care wards at Östra Hospital
• Psychiatric emergency department, with community care teams and consultancy services.
• Several specialized teams and a strong R&D unit

You will be an important part of developing a new consultancy unit at Sahlgrenska University Hospital for psychiatry and addiction medicine. We can offer you a supplementary specialization in addiction medicine during your tenure as a consultant. If you have an interest in research, there are good opportunities to pursue that as well. Job Responsibilities

As a consultant, you will be based at the emergency department at Östra Hospital and assist our care neighbors with assessments, treatments, and prioritizations of psychiatric and addiction medicine conditions.

About You

We are looking for a specialist doctor in psychiatry. You have a Swedish license and specialist certificate. If you are at the end of your residency and passionate about addiction care, we also welcome you to reach out. Experience in addiction care, emergency psychiatry, and consultation psychiatry is an advantage.

We have varied tasks, and we often collaborate and consult with each other. You find it easy to cooperate, are attentive, clear in your communication, and have the courage to approach people and build trust. You have an ethical approach that involves awareness of the equal value of all people, respect for their integrity, and the ability to handle complex situations. We believe you are secure in yourself, have the ability to adapt and reprioritize when needed. We work in teams that include various professional categories, where we show care for each other and work together towards a common goal. You have a scientific approach and can convey new knowledge to colleagues.
