About the workplace

The mission of the Community Building Administration is to ensure that the municipality's residents have a good living environment in a long-term sustainable society.

We provide advice and information to the public and businesses, but we are also a supervisory authority within our areas of operation.

Ale municipality is looking for a project manager for water and sewage to the Community Building Administration. The position is located in the Water Planning department within Infrastructure, which is part of the technical operations, and you will work within the entire water and sewage operations. An important part of the work is participation in the planning, implementation, and operation of water planning, water connections, and project management within water and sewage, public spaces in existing areas, as well as new development areas/detail plans.

Currently, there are 8 people working in the Water Planning department in roles such as water case officer, water engineer, subscriber engineer, and project manager. Within the unit, we have close cooperation on most issues. You will also be part of the entire water and sewage operations in the municipality and have close collaboration with pipe layers, operations engineers, water technicians, environmental and quality engineers, and measurement engineers.

Job Responsibilities

As a project manager within water and sewage, your main task will be to lead and drive small and large water and sewage projects where you are responsible for new construction or upgrading and renovation of the public water and sewage facilities. The projects are mainly construction projects. They may include pipe networks or water facilities such as pumping stations, pressure boosting stations, elevated tanks, § 6 areas, etc. Projects can be carried out in-house or as contracts. The work involves being responsible for investigating the project's conditions, preparing working documents, timelines, budget materials, and procuring contractors and other competencies. You will also be responsible for coordinating the municipality's technical issues regarding water and sewage, for example, in various parts of the detailed planning process. The tasks involve everything from contacts within Ale municipality, with consultants, contractors, utility owners, subscribers, and authorities to being responsible for the project's finances and conducting procurements.

The position involves a lot of contact with authorities and municipal residents and places high demands on good service orientation and communication skills. Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a technical post-secondary education or experience that the employer deems equivalent. It is advantageous if you have a technical university or college degree.

You should have at least two years of professional experience in project management, design, and/or construction management within the construction industry.

We would like you to have experience in municipal or other public work as well as good knowledge of contract law such as ABK, AB, ABT, MER & AMA.

It is advantageous if you have experience in project management within water and sewage, operation and maintenance of water and sewage facilities, Geosecma water mapping system, LAV (the Act on Public Water Services), and Cactus.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability and want you to have a good ability to collaborate and build trusting relationships. You have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish. You possess good problem-solving skills and a creative mindset. You are self-driven and enjoy taking responsibility for the entire project process – from idea to implementation. A B driver's license is a requirement.
