About Us

Ward 63/64 is an acute care ward focused on diseases of the upper gastrointestinal tract.

On our 30 care places, we care for and treat patients undergoing planned surgeries in liver surgery, bariatric surgery, inguinal hernia surgery, and gallstone surgery.

We work in teams consisting of nurses, assistant nurses, and doctors. Working with surgical patients is varied and enjoyable with many medical technical tasks. The flow of patients is fast, and the average length of stay is 1 - 2 days.

As an assistant nurse with us, you will be offered a stimulating and developing job where you, together with the responsible nurse, take care of our patients. There are also some medical technical tasks such as sample taking, NEWS, drain management, and urinary catheterization. You work closely with your responsible nurse and report changes in the patient's condition.

Qualifications

Trained assistant nurse through the upper secondary school’s Health and Care program (three years, 2500 points), the Health and Care program at Komvux (three semesters, minimum 1350 points), or equivalent assistant nurse education. You need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare, or alternatively fall under the transitional regulations for assistant nurses, to be employed with the title of assistant nurse. Otherwise, you may be employed within the category of healthcare assistant.

Personal Qualities

• At least two years of experience working in a care ward, preferably as an assistant nurse in surgery/urology.
• Good collaboration skills and high flexibility, easily able to take initiative and see opportunities. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Employment Type

Permanent employment 37 hours/week. Start date according to agreement.

About the Operation

The area of Surgery and Urology conducts both acute and elective surgery and urology as well as surgical operations in outpatient and inpatient care around the clock. We treat and care for patients mainly from Stockholm County, but also from outside the county and foreign patients with surgical or urological diseases. Patients are taken care of at several different specialist clinics, two operating rooms, and four wards with different profile areas; colorectal surgery, surgery of the upper gastrointestinal tract, bariatric surgery, and liver tumors as well as urology. About 460 employees work here.
