Welcome to us

Mälarbacken is a care and nursing home for the elderly over 65 years old.

At Mälarbacken, 282 individuals reside with various focuses including dementia, somatics, psychiatric profile housing, as well as short-term and respite care. Mälarbacken is located in a scenic area and is easily accessible by car, bus, or subway. Mälarbacken is an academic hub, and we welcome nursing students. We are currently seeking care assistants for the summer in various units. We need staff for day/evening and night shifts.

Your role

As a care assistant, you will provide good care, social support, and service efforts to the elderly according to decisions made by the assistance officer. You will help and support care recipients in daily life to promote their functional ability and assist with their social contacts. You will be responsible for ensuring that the elderly participate in various activities and receive stimulation for their well-being, as well as offering them opportunities for outdoor activities. You will also maintain contact with relatives, participate in care planning, and keep social documentation. Additionally, you will follow the routines and regulations in place at the workplace.

Your qualifications and experience

As an applicant, you should have some form of care assistant education and have worked in care and nursing for at least 1 year.

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities and good references. We need you to be secure, stress-resistant, and possess personal maturity. You should also be service-oriented and attentive to the needs of care recipients. You value diversity and understand that different backgrounds, cultures, and group affiliations can affect oneself and others in various ways. You have good collaboration skills and are willing to share your knowledge and experiences while being open to learning from others. You have empathy in your interactions with others and a genuine interest in working in this profession. You are expected to be flexible, as the job requires it.

The values of elderly care permeate our operations, and you should be able to translate these values into your daily work.
