About Us

IES Österåker opened in August 2024 and is a modern F-9 school with high ambitions. When the school is fully enrolled, we will have approximately 600 students distributed across two parallel classes per grade.

We follow the Swedish curriculum and up to 50 percent of the teaching is conducted in English. Our operations are characterized by clear structure, high academic expectations, and a safe study environment where both students and staff thrive and develop.

The school is centrally located in Åkersberga in a combination of newly built and renovated premises. With proximity to sports facilities, green areas, and the archipelago, we offer an inspiring work environment, about 30 minutes commuting from Stockholm.

Your Mission

We are now looking for a licensed teacher in Swedish for grades 7–9 who wants to make a difference every day.

As a teacher with us, you are responsible for planning, teaching, assessment, and follow-up in accordance with Lgr22. You actively work to develop students' language skills, critical thinking, and analytical competence.

The position also includes mentorship, where you play a central role in students' academic and social development. You have close contact with guardians and collaborate closely with colleagues, the student health team, and school management.

• is a licensed teacher in Swedish for grades 7–9

• is engaged, solution-focused, and enjoys collaborating
• provides clear and continuous feedback that drives students' development forward

You are secure in your profession and vary your teaching to meet different students' needs. You work inclusively and see collaboration with student health and colleagues as a natural part of the mission.

Teaching is conducted in Swedish, but since we are an international workplace, you need to feel comfortable communicating in English with colleagues.
