The Service Administration is Falu Municipality's provider of internal service and ancillary services according to an FM concept, local supply, and management of most of the municipality's properties. The mission is to support the municipality's various activities by providing suitable and functional premises, tasty and nutritious meals, vehicles, and transport services along with several ancillary services. Falu Municipality is regionally the leading public employer in developing FM services and support based on BIM. This development occurs in both construction and management.

Eating habits and attitudes towards food are often established at a young age. Good and nutritious food provides a solid foundation for development and a healthy, active life. High-quality meals are crucial for enhancing children's and youth's ability to learn and benefit from educational activities. We, who are employed within the Service Administration, work to ensure that children and students are offered good and nutritious food prepared with great care.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a full-time chef for our newly built school and preschool in Sundborn, which opened in January this year. It is a class F-6 school and preschool covering nearly 7,000 square meters over 2 floors with an attached gym. The kitchen is equipped with the latest kitchen technology. In the kitchen, a total of 3 chefs work full-time, along with a part-time kitchen assistant. Together, you will prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks for about 300 children, students, and staff. We are looking for someone with experience in large-scale food production and good knowledge of special diets. Cleaning and tidying in the kitchen is also, just like cooking, a significant and important task, and something we value highly; the new fine premises should be kept clean and nice for many years to come.

You will be responsible, together with the team, for the quality and safety of the food. The tasks will rotate and may also include administration, such as statistics, orders, and self-control.

As a chef, you are the face of our dining guests. The ability to meet the younger guests of the unit in a pleasant manner is of great importance; this is also an essential part of the job that we see you enjoy.

We expect you to prioritize excellent service.

Qualifications

The following is required for the role:

• Education in large-scale kitchen/restaurant or professional experience deemed equivalent by the employer
• Good knowledge, education/experience in special diets
• Knowledge of HACCP, self-control for kitchens.
• Good computer skills; we use computers as support in daily work
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing

• Education and experience in dietary cooking (special diets)
• Experience from large-scale kitchens and production kitchens

• B driver's license
