Project Manager Park

Jönköping Municipality is a large employer with hundreds of different job roles. We are growing in line with the development of the municipality, with more residents, more housing, and a larger range of services. We are always on the lookout for new competencies - employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences, united by the common drive to create a better municipality to visit, live, work, and reside in.

Do you want to help shape the parks and green areas of the future in Jönköping? We are now looking for a Project Manager to strengthen our planning unit for a period.

With us, you will have a varied and developing job where you contribute to a sustainable and attractive municipality.

Your new job

Over the next two years, we will further strengthen our operations with a project employment as Project Manager Park.

The Planning and Development unit is responsible for the design and planning of the municipality's streets, parks, forests, and other green areas. The unit also develops and revises maintenance plans for the operation and maintenance of land and infrastructure and manages the municipality's investment projects.

As Project Manager Park, you will belong to the Planning unit, which consists of 22 employees distributed across forest, park, street, and paving.

Your main tasks will involve project management focused on driving projects related to the reinvestment budget for parks. You will be responsible for contacts with suppliers and authorities, follow up on projects, manage project finances, and deliver forecasts for the allocated budget.

You will work closely with another project manager and three park engineers who together are responsible for the maintenance and development of the municipality's park areas, playgrounds, park environments, street trees, and certain paved areas in the municipality. You will also work closely with our landscape architects who design and project a large part of our projects.

Your competence

We are looking for someone who has a good ability to collaborate with others and work independently. You thrive with significant responsibility and work in a structured manner with a focus on accuracy and quality. It is natural for you to drive your work processes forward and take your own initiatives to achieve results. You see opportunities rather than obstacles in changes and can easily adapt to new conditions. Since the position involves many contact points, you are accommodating, service-oriented, and solution-focused, with a genuine interest in helping others.

Requirements

  • Work experience in project management
  • Practical and/or theoretical experience with plants and trees
  • Competence in GIS
  • Very good knowledge of digital work tools
  • Knowledge of budget, cost follow-up, and financial management
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish (spoken, written, and reading comprehension)
  • Driving license B (manual transmission)

Meritorious

  • Experience in a commissioning role or working with contractors
  • Experience in procurement according to LOU and working with contracts
  • Familiarity with documentation, follow-up, and reporting

We offer you

With us, you will have a fun, creative, developing, and varied job alongside others. You will have the opportunity for individual competence development as well as experience and knowledge exchange with colleagues. As an employee with us, you will receive secure employment conditions, wellness benefits, and the possibility of remote work.

As a project manager with us, you will develop Jönköping Municipality. You will contribute to an attractive and safe place for everyone to live, work, and thrive. With participation and influence in both planning and development, you will help shape a constantly growing municipality. Together we build a sustainable city and countryside.
