At the Technical and Leisure Administration, we are responsible for properties, streets, parks, recreational facilities, as well as water and sewage.

We are now seeking a project engineer to strengthen the organization; together with your colleagues, you will help build the community and develop Värnamo Municipality.

As a project engineer, you will be part of the technology and project department at the Technical and Leisure Administration, where collective engineering expertise exists within the construction operations, a team with opportunities for collaboration and support. The technology and project department is responsible for planning investments in the municipality's infrastructure as well as for project design and project management in the municipality's investment projects. The department also supports the work with the municipality's planning, such as detailed planning of new residential and business areas.

Responsibilities

In the role of project engineer, you will investigate and design for the expansion of water and sewage networks, street networks, parks, public places, and new development areas. You have the opportunity to influence the entire process, from planning with preliminary design to construction and documentation of the completed facility.

In our work, we use modern tools such as Civil 3D from Autodesk, with Naviate adaptations and ArcGIS from Esri. We apply model-oriented design and have continuous access to all relevant base data, the municipality's geodata resources as well as equipment for our own data capture.

The role also includes:

• A reviewing role when the organization calls for assignments from external consultants
• Collaboration with colleagues in the department as well as supervisors in the construction unit

You will have the opportunity to influence your direction regarding specialization and breadth. Thus, there are good opportunities for development and experience building within construction technology. There are also good chances for further education and development in the field through external courses.

Qualifications

Furthermore, we see that you have:

• Documented engineering education at the university level in the relevant field or a field deemed relevant for the assignment, alternatively documented experience or education deemed equivalent.
• Knowledge of regulations governing the design of roads and streets in urban and rural areas.
• Driver's license (B)
• Good IT skills

It is advantageous if you have:

• Advanced knowledge in pipeline dimensioning and experience in design for construction operations
• Experience from a politically governed organization
