About the Company

BGC Plåt was established in 1991 and has since developed into one of the leading specialists in stainless manufacturing in Central Sweden.

With our complete machine park and employees with many years of experience in the industry, we offer our customers broad comprehensive solutions – all the way from raw materials to finished products. We are a workforce of about 15 employees who take pride in delivering high quality, short lead times, and competitive prices.

The business is based in our workshop in Horndal in southeastern Dalarna, strategically located with good connections to major industrial cities such as Gävle, Borlänge, and Västerås.

Job Responsibilities

As an Operational Team Leader at BGC Plåt, you will play a key role where you combine your practical craftsmanship with an overall responsibility for ensuring smooth production. Your time will initially be divided as follows:

  • 75% Production: You will actively work at your station with welding (MIG/TIG), primarily in stainless material. As a contract manufacturer, we offer a varied daily routine with new projects and technical challenges every day.
  • 25% Team Leadership: You will assist the CEO in planning and distributing work to avoid any stoppages. You will ensure that materials are available at the stations and act as a support for your colleagues in daily operations. This role also includes some purchasing responsibility and customer contact.

You will have access to your own office for administrative tasks, but your main presence will be in the workshop with the team. The ambition is for you to grow in the role over time, and the leadership component of the position will be expanded.

We offer a full-time position during daytime hours, located in Horndal.

Your Profile

To thrive in the role of operational team leader, you are someone who naturally takes responsibility and ensures that work flows smoothly. You are driven, clear in your communication, and make the decisions necessary to move production forward. As a person, you are unpretentious and support your colleagues when needed, while also having the ability to organize and distribute tasks effectively.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in welding: You are confident in both MIG and TIG, with particular experience working with stainless materials.
  • Familiarity with reading technical drawings: You can read drawings fluently and have a good understanding of the flow in a mechanical workshop.
  • Decision-making ability: You see what needs to be done in the moment and act on your own initiative.
  • Driver's license: You have at least a B driver's license.

We prefer that you have solid industry experience from similar businesses. Previous education in the field is not a requirement but is considered a merit, as your overall competence and personality are decisive for us.
