City Health Center is looking for a new colleague
We at City Health Center are looking for a new colleague and welcome you to apply to our workplace.
The health center has a forward-thinking attitude, values an open and unpretentious climate, and promotes collaboration within and between professional groups. We maintain high quality in what we do for our patients and have the mindset that everyone is equally valuable.
Our Offer
The Primary Care Center of Östergötland consists of 33 region-operated health centers, Health Center Finspång, Child Health Care Unit, 1177 and emergency centers during evenings and weekends, and a General Medicine Training Center. We conduct a broad primary care operation where we offer care to everyone throughout their lives; newborns, children, adolescents, adults, the elderly, and patients at the end of life.
We are a forward-looking organization with a strong focus on good working conditions, development, and health. We actively work to create conditions for a sustainable work life while having a development-inspired approach to meet future challenges in primary care. With us, there are good development opportunities for those who want to advance in their profession, become a manager, or move forward in other ways, such as through specialization or research.
City Health Center is centrally located in the old hospital area of Norrköping. The health center is operated by Region Östergötland, has about 14,300 registered residents in a mixed population, and nearly 60 permanent employees, which means we have a broad staffing in various professions.
The health center focuses on working behaviorally through the integration of psychological and somatic competence through the concept of Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH). We have been working on this for several years and also conduct research in the field. The goal is to collectively work throughout the health center to increase many patients' functionality and quality of life and enhance patients' ability to manage their issues. We also work to increase preventive efforts and avoid medicalization.
We are an academic health center with a growing commitment to research across several professions.
Other focus areas include elderly health/our elderly care unit, training of younger colleagues, e-health, and we are now also an HBTQI-certified health center. The basic structure of the health center is good, which facilitates daily work.

Job Description
You will have your own clinic, mentor colleagues, handle child health care, and other tasks typically included in the role of a general practitioner at a health center. In basic assignments, there is often an opportunity to profile oneself based on interest and aptitude. There is also a so-called “own booking” in the schedule where you can make a decision about whether you need time for patient bookings or administration, thus gaining influence over your time. We have a monthly division and listing in Master occurs as you have been in contact with the patients. The listing also takes into account the care burden. We will soon initiate a working method where the doctor collaborates with a nurse for mutual benefit and to ensure our patients and achieve a higher degree of continuity.
Care-initiated video visits during the day may be relevant if you and the patient see a benefit in it. We work with flexible hours. On-call duties are included in the assignment. Cosmic is our working tool. If you are interested in research, this is a great workplace for you. You will, of course, receive an introduction to ensure you have the best conditions for your assignment.
Work Group
We currently have nine general practitioners, 1 retired doctor, and 1 professor in internal medicine. We have several resident doctors, seven specialist trainees, and 1 licensed physician.
About You
You are a specialist in general medicine. Previous work experience in primary care in Östergötland is an advantage. You speak Swedish fluently and have at least level C1.
You are attentive, unpretentious, and enjoy collaborating with colleagues and other professional categories. You value patient encounters and see the whole picture. You work responsibly with good quality and recognize the benefits of continuity and patient-centered care. You can also plan, organize, and prioritize your work. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability for the position.
Application and Employment
The application should include a complete filled-out merit summary for doctors which you can find here. This must be verified. Don’t forget to also attach a copy of your diploma or license.
We work with ongoing selection, so please send in your application as soon as possible. Before employment in a patient-facing role within Region Östergötland, you will need to fill out a form (https://ledsys.lio.se/Document/Document?DocumentNumber=54500).
Warm welcome with your application! If you need help registering in the system, please contact customer service Support and Service, 010-103 60 00, during office hours.
