We are now looking for an engaged systems technician who wants to help ensure a stable, secure, and modern IT environment.

Your new job

We are looking for a systems technician who will work with the operation, management, and further development of a broad and complex IT environment. The environment includes a large number of operational systems of varying sizes and complexities, from smaller specialized systems to larger business-critical solutions.

The IT environment encompasses five municipalities and consists of a large number of mission-critical systems. The role involves working in an environment that is gradually evolving towards more standardized and scalable solutions.

You will be part of a team that works closely with the operations and other technical functions, focusing on stable operations, secure handling, and long-term development.

In the role of systems technician, you will work with the operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of our systems, services, and integrations. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT environments and actively participate in IT projects and various improvement efforts. Part of the work involves documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.

Your tasks will also include working with 3rd line support and having technical dialogues with both users and suppliers. The role also involves participating in the work of standardization, automation, and secure operation of our IT services.

About you

We are looking for someone with post-secondary IT education or equivalent work experience. To thrive in the role, you need to have good knowledge of Windows and/or Linux environments. You should also have experience with SQL Server and basic database administration. Furthermore, it is important that you have experience with web server management, such as IIS, and an understanding of identity, permissions, and authentication of IT systems.

Experience with automation or scripting, such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python, is advantageous.

It is desirable that you have experience working in larger or complex IT environments. It is also important if you have experience with integrations between different systems. Knowledge of federated authentication, SSO, or Microsoft's identity solutions is a plus, as well as experience with Microsoft 365, hybrid environments, or platform-related work.

You also have a good ability to express yourself in both Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing. Experience from working in the public sector or collaborative organizations is an advantage.

We are looking for someone who is responsible, solution-oriented, and unpretentious. You take ownership of technical problems until they are resolved and thrive in an environment where both stable operations and change are a natural part of the work. You have the ability to see the big picture and understand how technology, operations, and work methods are interconnected. You work in a structured manner and have a good ability to communicate with users in technical matters.

Höglandets IT is the IT service provider for the municipalities of Höglandet. The municipalities in the highlands are facing a transformative and exciting journey towards a digital service society. Höglandets IT is an important player in this.

We deliver reliable IT services daily to approximately 32,000 users across various municipal sectors such as education, healthcare, culture and leisure, property, construction, and water and sewage. Our IT environment is one of the largest and most challenging in the region, with a comprehensive number of devices and infrastructure components.

Good to know

After the introductory period, there is an opportunity for remote work up to 50% of the working time.

If you are called for an interview, you need to be able to prove your citizenship. You do this by presenting a valid passport or a certificate of citizenship along with a valid ID. A certificate can, if you are a Swedish citizen, be downloaded from the tax agency under my pages. If you are a citizen of a country outside the EU/EES, you must also be able to present a valid residence and/or work permit to work in Sweden. Employment can only occur after the work permit has been verified, in accordance with the Aliens Ordinance.
