About the job

Gamlestadstorget emergency center is an evening and weekend open emergency clinic whose mission is to provide good care when regular health centers are closed. Patients of all ages seek care with both minor and more serious acute problems, ranging from wounds and burns, suspected fractures to various types of infections. Some are treated and cared for at the emergency center while others need to be referred for assessment and treatment at the hospital. The clinic works in teams consisting of doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, and physiotherapists.

Your tasks at the emergency center span a wide range of work and include the general medical area where you meet patients of all ages and situations. As a nurse at the emergency center, you are offered an exciting and rewarding job with a large variety of patients. You will have a varied job where a large part consists of triage and reception work, but also other tasks that are commonly found at an emergency center such as sample collection, wound dressing, and EKG examination. You also function as support to other professional groups at the clinic.

About you

You are a licensed nurse. It is an advantage if you have experience from working in primary care and/or have a supervisor training of 7.5 credits, but we also welcome you as a recent graduate.

We are looking for someone who takes initiative in their work and is confident in making their own decisions. You are meticulous, have good problem-solving skills, and can effectively prioritize among your tasks.

In your work, you meet many patients, so it is important that you are accommodating, attentive, and have a desire to help others. We also believe that you thrive in teamwork and have a natural ability to collaborate with colleagues and other contacts in your work. You can express yourself well in both speech and writing, and you are an engaged and good listener in both digital meetings and visits to the clinic. We would also like you to have an interest in digitization and business development.

About the recruitment process

Selection takes place in two steps. The first selection is made by recruiters in the HR department who call relevant candidates for a phone interview. Thereafter, the recruiting manager makes a second selection of applicants and invites them for an interview at the health center.

We use competency-based interviews, which means that the answers to the questions should be based on actual situations. It is important that you describe as concrete situations as possible and try to avoid generalizing answers – this is so that we can understand the situation, why you acted as you did, and what the result was.
