About Amnesty International

Amnesty International is a global organization that works for the equal value of all people. By having investigators on the ground worldwide, we can obtain testimonies from those who know what is happening, and we document the information we receive to expose when human rights violations occur. Our work is based on international law, human rights, and solid expertise. Our size is our strength - by gathering many people who raise awareness of violations, we can create powerful public opinion and put pressure on authorities and governments. In this way, we can create long-term change and conditions for a world where human rights apply to everyone. We are very restrictive with donations from companies and states. We do not allow ourselves to be influenced by political parties, religions, or economic interests. We are independent in our investigations and opinions.
