The Opportunity
The Production Trainee Program at Hitachi Energy in Ludvika offers a unique opportunity to try various tasks within our factories. You will have the chance to work and develop within production and become part of an innovative work environment. The program lasts for ten months, during which you will get to know Hitachi Energy by working in three different production teams at our various factories in Ludvika & Smedjebacken.
The program is based on variation and development through 3 job rotations where you will actively seek and try different work areas to build a broad network and test various tasks and working hours to find what suits you best for your future permanent placement. To thrive in the role, you need to be flexible and comfortable meeting new work environments, tasks, and colleagues frequently.
The program includes all necessary requirements and safety training to ensure that you can work in our factories. Additionally, you will participate in team-building activities with other trainees throughout the program.
In the production trainee program, you will receive a permanent employment contract starting on September 1, 2026.

We are now looking for engaged and ambitious individuals who want to be part of our production trainee program and work and develop within production.
How You Will Impact
- The program starts with introductory weeks with preparatory requirements and safety training needed to work in production at Hitachi Energy.
- You will rotate and try tasks in three different factories, three months each somewhere in the production units; Power Transformers, HVDC, Breakers, Capacitors, Surge Arresters, and Transformer Components, in Ludvika and Smedjebacken.
- You will have the opportunity to try various tasks in areas such as assembly, warehousing, testing, and welding, depending on your educational background.
- Working hours vary. During the program, you will work in different departments that have different shift patterns. This means that you will change working hours several times during the year, and you need to be able to work 2-shift, daytime, and possibly 3-shift or 5-shift depending on the department.
Your Background
- Interest in working in a practical profession and developing within production.
- Completed high school diploma, or currently in the last term of high school and will receive a passing grade. It is advantageous if you have studied in the Electrical & Energy program, industrial program, or another technical high school program, but this is not a requirement; we place the greatest emphasis on your personal qualities and skills.
- You have a maximum of two years of work experience.
- You have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as well as good knowledge of English.
- You have a valid work permit to work in Sweden.
- You are not already employed through a staffing agency or have a position within Hitachi Energy.
Since our operations have different shift schedules, you will change working hours up to 4 times during the program. Therefore, we are looking for someone who can work different types of shifts and who feels comfortable adapting to new working hours.
As a person, we see that you are meticulous, engaged, and curious, and can work calmly and methodically in various situations and handle changes with flexibility, joy, and commitment. You enjoy working both independently and in a team and are keen to achieve set goals with a focus on safety and quality.
