Svärdsjö, Envikens and Sundborns parishes consist of three congregations with associated churches, cemeteries, and other properties.

We are now looking for a caretaker to join our team of caretakers in the parish.

As a church caretaker with us, you will serve during worship services and at funerals, baptisms, and weddings, and you will be responsible for ensuring that the church space is in good order and handle practical and technical tasks.

You will also work with the maintenance and upkeep of cemeteries and with cleaning our churches, which also includes maintenance and supervision of properties.

Your tasks will include lawn mowing, pruning, hedge trimming, and other ongoing cemetery maintenance. Planting and care of grave borders are included. The work is performed with both hand tools and machines such as wheel loaders. We also manage gravestone safety and test our gravestones annually.

In the role of church caretaker, you will meet many visitors and participants in our activities, and they come in both joy and sorrow, which places high demands on good social skills.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

· Education in gardening and/or park maintenance or other comparable education in green space

and/or

Experience working as a church caretaker

· Good physical capacity as the work can sometimes be heavy

· A valid driver's license (B)

· Membership in the Church of Sweden

· You share the Church of Sweden's values

Meritorious

· Experience in gardening maintenance

Employment type: Permanent, starting with a 6-month probationary period
