Meal Service is Hiring a Chef for Katedralskolan

Meal Service is now looking for an engaged chef for the kitchen at Katedralskolan, who, together with colleagues, creates joy in food for our guests.

About the Role and Your Responsibilities

As a chef, you will plan, prepare, and cook food while structuring the daily work together with the entire team. As much food as possible is prepared from scratch using good ingredients, focusing on health, climate, and sustainability. Special diets and planning for these are an important part of the job.

You will actively participate in the development of the school restaurant's offerings and in planning the operations to create satisfied guests. Together with coordinators and the team, you will be responsible for quality and efficiency. The work also includes participating in all tasks that occur in the kitchen.

Together with colleagues, you will perform the tasks included in the self-control according to the food law and the Food Agency's regulations. A good attitude is a given, as is contributing to a positive dining experience for the restaurant's guests.

You will also actively and collaboratively contribute to the development and goals of the workplace and the operations. You represent Lund Municipality in a professional manner by working to implement and enforce the municipality's processes, guidelines, and policies.

We Are Looking for You

We are looking for someone with a chef's education or equivalent training as assessed by the employer. You have several years of experience as a chef and good knowledge in handling special diets. You are accustomed to working with self-control according to current routines. If you have also completed a special diet training and have experience working with dietary data systems, it is a merit.

To thrive in this role, you need to be flexible, able to work independently, and easily adapt to changes. You have good collaboration skills and are accommodating in your interactions. You enjoy helping others as part of a team, willingly share your knowledge, and keep yourself updated in your professional field. You can communicate well in Swedish, both spoken and written, and you have good computer skills.

About the Workplace

Meal Service encompasses 46 kitchens distributed across seven units and is responsible for preparing meals for preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, and elderly care. Every day, approximately 20,000 portions are prepared by over 200 employees. The operation strives to offer good and nutritious food, promote good eating habits, and provide high-quality service.

The kitchen at Katedralskolan serves about 1200 lunch portions to the students at the school. The team consists of a coordinator, four kitchen assistants, and three chefs. There is a well-established collaboration with the school operations, and there is ongoing active work with the dining experience.

The Service Administration meets the needs of Lund Municipality's other administrations and municipal companies for service. We have about 600 employees. Together, we work to build and maintain the municipality's buildings, premises, and housing, ensuring that they are intact, clean, and functioning as they should. We prepare food for the municipality's children, youth, and elderly, take care of green areas around the municipality's buildings, and manage the municipality's vehicles and transport. We are passionate about service!
