Specialist Physician in Pain Rehabilitation

The Rehabilitation Medicine department at Sandviken Hospital receives patients from all over the Gävleborg Region and specializes in chronic pain, brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries. We work according to a behavioral medicine model in multidisciplinary teams where each professional group, such as doctors, occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, physiotherapists, sports leaders, rehabilitation coordinators, and nurses, contributes with their unique expertise. Based on individual rehabilitation plans, measures are offered to facilitate rehabilitation within the family, at work, and in society. We are looking for someone who wants to work in a cross-professional team where innovation, collaboration, and individualized solutions are the focus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The outpatient team focuses on returning patients to work/study and functioning daily life for patients with chronic pain.

As a specialist physician with us, you will among other things:

• have overall responsibility for the patient's rehabilitation efforts and a leading and coordinating role in the team, and carry out qualified rehabilitation efforts
• be responsible for referral assessments and prioritization together with the clinic's medical team
• actively contribute to the development of the operations
• supervise doctors in training as residents in rehabilitation medicine, doctors in side service, and interns in elective placements.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who easily collaborates and appreciates working in a team-based environment. You see your part in the whole and would like to help develop the operations forward. As we are an educational institution, we are looking for someone with good pedagogical skills and the ability to adapt your way of conveying messages to the recipient.

In the role of specialist physician, you should:

• be a licensed physician
• have specialist competence in rehabilitation medicine, algology, or internal medicine, or alternatively another specialty that may be suitable depending on previous experience in rehabilitation work.
