Rehabilitation Medicine in Sandviken

Rehabilitation Medicine in Sandviken receives patients from all over the Gävleborg Region. The service is focused on patients with injuries and diseases of the nervous system, primarily brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and patients with chronic pain issues. The service consists of an inpatient unit with a ward containing 12 beds and some day care, as well as an outpatient unit consisting of a brain rehabilitation team, spinal cord injury team, medical clinic, and pain team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a psychologist with us, you will work with patients primarily in inpatient care alongside doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, nurses, nursing assistants, recreational leaders, speech therapists, and rehabilitation assistants. Rehabilitation Medicine operates according to a behavioral medicine model for analysis and treatment. In addition to being part of a team on the ward, you will also be part of a psychologist group within the unit.

As a psychologist, you will work with:

• assessment and screening of cognitive abilities
• neuropsychological assessment and evaluation of mental well-being
• psychological treatment
• working with behaviors that hinder the patient's rehabilitation
• supervision for staff.
