Job Advertisement: Nurse in Orthopedics and Urology

As a nurse with us, you will be offered a fun and constantly developing job within outpatient care, with 50 percent work at our clinic combined with 50 percent inpatient care on our ward.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Work on the orthopedic ward may include both orthopedic and urology patients, acute as well as elective care. You will be the team leader and responsible for nursing care for your team of up to six to eight patients. As part of a team consisting of nurses, care coordinators, doctors, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists, you will coordinate the patient's nursing and medical care. In addition to your work in the care team, you are expected to contribute to the unit's development work and our collective work environment.

As a nurse on the ward, you will work with:

• nursing and preventive work against care injuries
• medication administration
• handling of medical technical equipment such as infusion pumps, VAC pumps, central lines, tubes, catheters
• documentation and planning for patients during admission and discharge
• information and education.

As a nurse in the clinic, you will work with:

• telephone advice
• participating in daily clinic activities, which include casting, wound dressings, and outpatient surgeries
• planning and booking of clinic visits.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with an interest in orthopedic/urological nursing and a genuine interest and commitment to the well-being of patients. To thrive with us, you need to handle the varied everyday life on an orthopedic ward. You are good at prioritizing and re-prioritizing, can switch between different tasks, and also manage a sometimes high pace without compromising patient safety and quality. You are responsible and can work goal-oriented and systematically. You have a pleasant demeanor and view respectful, attentive, and empathetic communication as an important tool in interacting with patients, relatives, colleagues, and other internal and external actors. You have a good ability to both lead and collaborate.

In the role of nurse, you should:

• be a licensed nurse with the authorization to work within Swedish healthcare
• be able to communicate fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written.

If you have previous experience working in orthopedics or experience with the Cosmic data system, it is an advantage for the position.
