Your Assignment

As a dementia nurse, you will work closely with Silviasyster. Together, you will collaborate with internal teams, such as day activities for people with dementia, home care, case managers, home health care, family support, and health centers, as well as with other external actors.

The main tasks are to contribute to the development of dementia care in Söderhamn Municipality from a close-to-practice perspective. The work may include outreach efforts directed at individuals and their relatives, training and guidance for employees and managers in challenging situations, as well as introducing and further developing evidence-based methods, such as working with BPSD and person-centered approaches, to enhance quality and improve the individual's situation.

Description of the Workplace

The dementia nurse is part of the dementia team located at Enriset’s care and nursing home. The employment is organizationally linked to the unit manager who, in addition to the dementia team, is also responsible for Klockarbo day activities and home care – services aimed at individuals with dementia – as well as family support for the target group. The services continuously collaborate to ensure cohesive and quality care and support. The dementia nurse also collaborates with other services within the welfare sector.

Your Competence

We are looking for a licensed nurse with experience in close-to-practice work with individuals with dementia. You have a good ability to analyze, structure, and follow up on operational processes, as well as a well-developed communicative ability. You can convey knowledge in a pedagogical, clear, and adapted manner based on the recipient's needs and circumstances. A driver's license (B) is required, and you have excellent knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

As a person, you are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach. You understand people's varying abilities to absorb knowledge and possess a pedagogical ability that allows you to reach out even in challenging situations. Through openness and dialogue, you create good relationships and effective collaboration, both within your own unit and with other partners.

You have a holistic perspective, understand your role and assignment, and act in the best interest of the organization. Furthermore, you are strategic, analytical, and solution-focused, with the ability to handle issues from a broad perspective.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Further education in dementia, geriatrics, or psychiatry is an advantage.
