MAVA/Stroke - Nursing Assistant

MAVA/stroke belongs to internal medicine and has 25 care places. Here, acutely ill patients with medical problems are treated. The main diagnoses in the department are kidney diseases, gastro, intoxications, diabetes, electrolyte imbalances, blood cancers, anemias, and strokes. We also have patients with other medical issues. We work for fast flows and short hospital stays. In each care team, nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors work together with the patient in focus. Paramedical staff are included in the team. The department has two acute care rooms for continuous monitoring of particularly ill patients. The stroke unit handles strokes in the acute phase, including treatment such as thrombolysis with monitoring.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

At MAVA/stroke, the work is distributed among the nursing team between nurses and nursing assistants, and together they are responsible for the patients in their care team. Night staffing consists of two nurses and three nursing assistants. In addition to the care teams, we have a receptionist and a care planner.

As a nursing assistant, you will work with:

• patient-centered care and care documentation
• sampling and assisting in examinations
• close collaboration with nurses, doctors, and paramedics
• identifying risks and implementing measures based on the care process.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest and commitment to the well-being of patients. To thrive with us, you need to handle the varied everyday life of a medical emergency department. You are responsible and can work goal-oriented and systematically. You have a good demeanor and see respectful, attentive, and empathetic communication as an important tool in contact with patients, relatives, colleagues, and other internal and external actors. We welcome both experienced and newly educated nursing assistants.

In the role of a nursing assistant, you should:

• be a trained nursing assistant
• have very good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have experience in the nursing assistant profession and have experience working in an acute care department within inpatient care.
