The Gambling Addiction and Screen Health Clinic offers CBT treatment for gambling addiction (gambling disorder) and video game addiction. Our patients come from all over the Västra Götaland region and can seek help from us starting from the year they turn 16. Our goal is to be Sweden's leading knowledge center regarding gambling addiction and video game addiction and to disseminate current knowledge in an accessible way.

Treatment is provided either individually, in groups, or in the form of internet treatment. The treatments also include components from Motivational Interviewing. We work systematically with the evaluation of our treatments and integrate clinical practice with development work, quality work, and research.

At the clinic, psychologists, social workers, and administrators work together. We have researchers and doctoral students affiliated with the clinic, as well as access to doctors when needed. What Do We Offer?

With us, you will find experienced and helpful colleagues, and well-developed routines to support your work. As an employee at a specialized unit where we simultaneously conduct research, you will gain access to current knowledge within our specialist areas, gambling addiction and video game addiction, and work with your colleagues to apply this knowledge to develop our care. We regularly provide methodological support for MI (Motivational Interviewing) and have time set aside for joint supervision.

Job Responsibilities

As a PTP psychologist at the clinic, you will work with treatment related to both gambling addiction and video game addiction. You will conduct assessment interviews, participate in treatment conferences, and perform CBT treatments individually, in groups, and online. Since we conduct research on many of our treatments, your ongoing work will involve various ways of being involved in our research and development projects.

As a psychologist at the Dependency Unit, you will also become part of an active and engaged group of psychologists who have regular meetings and training days.

About You

We are looking for someone with a degree in psychology. The ideal candidate has an interest in CBT as a treatment method. You also see it as a natural and important part of your work to continuously evaluate treatment outcomes.

We value psychiatric and addiction competence as well as experience working with CBT treatment. If you also have specific experience in treating gambling addiction or video game addiction, that is an additional merit.

Since the clinic is continuously developing, we value qualities such as the ability to see development opportunities and take initiative, attention to detail, flexibility, and good collaboration skills. Personal suitability is of great importance.

We would prefer that you have completed your studies and can start employment in the spring, but the position is also open to those who will graduate in the spring of 2026.
