Community Planning Administration

The Community Planning Administration aims to make, maintain, manage, and develop the municipality's physical environment, infrastructure, and transportation with a forward-looking approach. The administration's work is characterized by collaboration, a holistic view, and efficient resource utilization. Through good planning, the administration contributes to an attractive living environment that is sustainable in the long term from ecological, social, and economic perspectives.

The Community Planning Administration consists of the following areas of activity: Physical planning, Water, sewage and waste, Streets, parks and forests, and Properties, Environment and construction. The Project and Investment unit drives and coordinates the administration's new and reinvestments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a park worker, you will work with the maintenance and care of parks and green areas. We perform green area maintenance such as lawn mowing, trimming, weeding, care and watering of summer flowers, perennials, shrubs, and trees. We maintain playgrounds, pick up litter, empty trash bins, etc.

We work outdoors in all weather conditions, and the work can be physically demanding at times.

You will work in a team where you plan and are responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed and reported back. We offer a varied job and would like you to contribute to the development of the operation.

Supervision of summer youth and interns is included in the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a high school education who is interested in park work. You are a responsible person with good teamwork skills who can work both independently and together with others. You can follow instructions and work efficiently and systematically. The jobs you perform are well-planned, of the right quality, and completed on time. You have a good sense of service and communicate well both in your work group and with people you meet in the city. You have good physical fitness and appreciate physical work.

Requirements

• High school education or experience deemed equivalent by the employer
• Basic knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. You must be able to understand verbal and written work and safety instructions.
• Manual transmission B driver's license

Meritorious

• Documented work experience in park/green area maintenance, landscaping, etc.
• Relevant education
• Plant knowledge
• Experience operating and handling machinery used in park work, preferably with relevant professional certificates.

OTHER

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. A security review with a background check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
