Seasonal Workers for Our Cemeteries

We are now looking for cemetery workers/groundskeepers for Solberga parish for the summer of 2026.

Solberga parish consists of our three congregations; Solberga, Jörlanda, and Hålta. We are located along the coastal stretch between Kungälv and Stenungssund by Hakefjorden and in the Svartedalen Natura2000 area. The parish has just over 20 employees.

We can offer a pleasant, physically engaging, and varied summer job where you will have the opportunity to work outdoors and together with others in a team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You should enjoy working outdoors in all kinds of weather. Your focus will be on quality and ensuring that our visitors receive the best possible service. You feel comfortable in the cemetery environment and have the ability to meet both visitors and colleagues with respect and understanding. You will be part of a gardening team led by a team leader. Your primary tasks will include maintaining and caring for planting areas, mowing grass and hedges, edging flower beds and paths, digging flower beds, weeding, and raking leaves. You will also operate the work vehicles we have within the organization, and the job may at times involve significant physical exertion. Some weekend work is included in the position as you will serve during baptisms/weddings/services.

QUALIFICATIONS

It is advantageous if you have training and/or at least one month of practical experience in cemetery or park and landscaping work. Since you will be working from written instructions, you need to have good knowledge of Swedish. It is desirable if you have knowledge of plants and/or experience with gardening equipment. As the work is physically demanding, you must be able to handle some heavy lifting and repetitive tasks. Work clothes will be provided.
