Härryda Vatten och Avfall is a wholly owned municipal company in Härryda municipality, led by a politically appointed board. We are financed by the fees that customers pay through a set water and waste tax. We are a company that encompasses many exciting projects and here work over 35 people.

We are looking for a dedicated employee who wants to help develop our operations. The water services operation includes over 66 miles of pipelines, four waterworks, two wastewater treatment plants, pressure boosting stations, reservoirs, and a large number of sewage pumping stations. We maintain and manage our facilities and deliver water services with high service, competence, and quality.

Your Mission

As an operations technician, you will be part of the unit that works with the operation and maintenance of the municipality's pipelines for water, sewage, and stormwater. You will be based at the Finnsjön waterworks in Mölnlycke, but the operational work takes place throughout the municipality.

Daily tasks include preventive maintenance such as leak detection, flushing, and inspection of pipelines. Changing water meters for customers, including administration, as well as inspections related to pipeline contracts are performed by the operations technicians. Another important part of the mission is to address water leaks and sewage blockages that arise.

The work involves a lot of freedom under responsibility, which is why you need to be self-driven, proactive, and decisive within the frameworks required by the job.

Although most of the work is operational, you will also participate in the strategic planning of pipeline renewal and in the systematic work to reduce leakage from drinking water pipelines as well as infiltration of extraneous water into sewage pipelines.

In this position, you will have many contacts with other functions within the water and sewage department and external contractors. There are also many contacts with our customers.

Other tasks within the operations may also be included as needed. On-call duty may be included after a training period. During on-call duty, other tasks than your regular ones may also be included.

The position may include scheduled on-call duty.

Requirements for the Position

You should have post-secondary education as an operations technician or equivalent. Alternatively, you should have completed a 3-year high school education combined with work experience that the employer deems relevant for the assignment.

We are looking for someone who is technically skilled and has an interest in data systems; previous experience in similar work is an advantage. Any training in water technology is desirable but not a requirement. Instead, your interest and willingness to learn the profession will weigh heavily in the selection process. A driver's license for manual transmission is required for the position.

As a person, you are engaged, flexible, and responsible. The work is carried out independently under your own responsibility and in close collaboration with colleagues. Good knowledge of Swedish is necessary as the work involves communication with colleagues, contractors, and residents both directly and via phone. Since IT-based systems are used within the operations, including for operational monitoring, data collection, and reporting of operational disturbances, it is important that you have good computer skills.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

To obtain employment, a criminal record extract from the police must be presented.
