About Tjärö

Tjärö, an island of 75 hectares, located in the heart of Blekinge's Archipelago. Tjärö offers accommodation in lovely small houses from the 1800s. There are 125 beds distributed across 48 rooms in 13 different houses. In addition to lodging, there are conference facilities, a restaurant, a café, and a marina with over 70 boat slips. The island can be reached by boat from Järnavik, Karlshamn, or Matvik.

About Tjärö's café

The café at Tjärö is a central place on the island located in the same building as the reception. The café offers a selection of food and drinks that varies throughout the season.

The café team consists of 2-8 people who work closely together. This means that our staff must be prepared to be flexible regarding working hours, workstations, and tasks, and always be part of the practical work. When you work in our café, you also assist with conference refreshments in collaboration with the reception.

During the low season, the café is open on weekends. During the high season from mid-June to mid-August, the café is open every day, and sometimes the line can be long. Having a positive mindset and a good team spirit is something we value highly.

Job Responsibilities

• Ordering and handling of food items.
• Planning of conference refreshments.
• Preparation and cooking of café offerings.
• Ongoing inventory.
• Focus on sustainability.
• Some scheduling.
• Training of staff (e.g., menus, workplace hygiene, ergonomics, etc.)
• Being helpful and creative regarding the offerings.
