Skanska has entered into a collaboration agreement with Svensk Kärnbränslehantering AB (SKB) for the expansion of the existing repository for short-lived radioactive waste (SFR) in Forsmark.

The project involves an expansion of the storage space of approximately 117,000 cubic meters divided into various rock halls at a depth of 120-140 meters in the bedrock. The project will be carried out in two phases divided into different stages and is expected to be completed by 2030.

The expansion of SFR is unique and complex in many ways as it requires collaboration from many different technical competencies. By working together, client and contractor, we find the specific solutions that are best suited for the project.

Become a part of our project team in Solna

As a project manager, you will play a central role in leading and coordinating the design process from the early stages to the final construction documents. You will contribute to creating solutions that meet both the client's and Skanska's requirements and make a difference for the overall project. The project is driven in several stages and is in different phases, which means you will have an important task in keeping together system documents, construction documents, and already completed work in a safe and structured manner.

In your daily work, you will identify risks and opportunities within your area and follow up on both budget and management of the design process. You will also become a natural part of the collaboration with procurement and production when technical solutions are to be evaluated, especially regarding sustainable and innovative alternatives that create added value for the project.

Together with our digital leaders, you will ensure that the project's 3D models are developed and that they contribute to an open and reliable information flow (BIM).

The role is dynamic, varied, and offers good opportunities for growth, both in experience and responsibility.

Your job will include:

  • Managing consultants and system solutions/system choices with regular follow-up within your area of responsibility.
  • Following up on the design work regarding schedule, budget, quality, safety, environment, and profitability for your sub-design.
  • Having close dialogue with the client's design manager and coordinating the review work together.
  • Working with workplace safety issues such as BAS-P and general risk management together with the client.
  • Being involved in and sometimes leading the coordination between different sub-designs and documents in the project's various phases.

Your work location will be Solna, where you will work closely with our client. Travel to Forsmark will occur and is part of the assignment.

Project Manager with experience in complex projects

We are looking for someone with experience in larger projects who wants to continue developing in the role of project manager. With us, you will have the opportunity to take responsibility, influence, and contribute to projects where both people and society are in focus.

As a leader, you create an environment where everyone feels involved and seen. You communicate openly, build trust, and know that the best results are achieved through close collaboration and a shared will to move forward. You enjoy creating structure, keeping the whole together, and contributing to the design process moving forward at the right pace.

The role requires:

  • At least five years of experience leading consultants, of which at least three years in design management.
  • Experience in construction document design.
  • Experience from multidisciplinary projects.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Driver's license (B).

The role suits you who see connections, make thoughtful priorities, and take responsibility for finding solutions that work both technically and sustainably, with consideration for climate, economy, and production. You are comfortable with digital working methods and enjoy driving development, both in projects and in the organization. If you have experience in visual design, we see it as a positive addition to the team.
