Currently, approximately 320 people work at the Community Planning Department, acting on behalf of the Technical Committee, the Environmental and Building Permit Committee, and the Municipal Executive Board. The Technical Department's important tasks include both management and technical support in an expanding municipality. Together, we are creating the future Järfälla – a place for everyone.

The Traffic and Street Unit is part of the Technical Department and works to ensure that Järfälla is a well-functioning, beautiful, clean, and safe municipality to live and visit. We manage and develop the traffic and street environment with long-term goals to create good safety and accessibility. We work with design, planning, and construction of streets, bridges, and squares, and are involved in early stages as a referral body for detailed plans and building permits on public land. Permissions for public space and permits to use municipal land for various events and temporary purposes are also part of the department's tasks. Contact with citizens and businesses is an important part of the work, and we aim to provide good service to entrepreneurs and the public.

Järfälla Municipality is an expanding municipality where more people will share existing infrastructure while new infrastructure is being built. Järfälla is a dynamic municipality northwest of Stockholm that combines proximity to nature, city, and water. In Barkarbystaden, a completely new, modern district is emerging with housing, commerce, workplaces, and a new subway station that strengthens Järfälla's already good communications. Järfälla is a multifaceted suburb with a rich mix of cultures, residential areas, and recreational opportunities.

We are now looking for two street engineers who, together with other street and lighting engineers, will be responsible for lighting, bridges, paving, stormwater in street areas, excavations, and land leases. The unit also consists of traffic engineers, traffic planners, and administrators for land leases.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your tasks may range from project management and administrative tasks to site inspections and assessments in the street environment. You review documents such as detailed plans and development documents, and respond to inquiries from the public, other departments, and companies.

As a street engineer, your responsibilities include inspecting and following up on excavation permits, conducting site inspections for land leases, and following up, reviewing, and evaluating ongoing and completed projects carried out by contractors. A large part of the work takes place outdoors in the street environment.

You will act as an expert in meetings and discussions. The work often occurs in consultation with colleagues in the Technical Department, other departments, administrations, and consultants. You have a strong ability to collaborate with other employees within the department, both within the same geography and within the same area of expertise, to achieve the best possible operation, and you enjoy contributing to continuous development through experience exchange with competent colleagues.

You will have contact with the public regarding questions and feedback about maintenance and reinvestments in street areas in Järfälla Municipality. It is therefore important that you have an engagement with citizens and their needs and enjoy working in a politically governed organization.

As a person, you have a strong drive and delivery capability, are flexible, and have good collaboration skills and can work independently. You have the ability to see the big picture while also capturing the details.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• a relevant university degree such as road or civil engineering, or equivalent work experience that compensates for the competence requirements
• practical work experience from construction or paving work, stormwater management, inspections, and site controls of facilities, or similar activities
• a valid driver's license (B)
• Good ability to read and understand as well as express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written

It is advantageous if you have:

• experience with case management systems like IsyRoad or equivalent systems
• knowledge of contract law, LOU, AB04, ABT06, and AMA construction
• expertise in accessibility in the street environment for people with disabilities
