Your role with us

As a Youth Service Coordinator, you will primarily work to implement youth service and mediation assignments. Youth service and mediation are statutory activities that municipalities are required to provide for young people. The District Court can sentence young people aged 15-21 to youth service as a penalty, which includes both therapeutic conversations and work.

In the role of Youth Service Coordinator, you are responsible for managing penalty programs and actively working to find youth service placements, as well as maintaining ongoing contact with social services and the justice system. The mediation assignment involves mediating between victims and the perpetrator; mediation is voluntary and requires both parties to agree to participate.

Who are we looking for?

You who are applying have a degree in social work or a bachelor's degree in another behavioral science discipline. If you have 30 or more higher education credits in criminology, it is an advantage. We want you to have experience working with young people in social services, treatment environments, schools, or equivalent, focusing on at-risk youth.

Since communication and documentation are a significant part of your work, you find it easy to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. You who are applying to us have a B driver's license for manual transmission to easily get around the municipality if needed. You are a person capable of working with others, which means you are unpretentious, good at listening, and show empathy and respect for the individuals you meet in your work.

When a candidate is offered employment, those who will work in a HVB home must provide a specific extract from the police criminal record according to the Social Services Act, Chapter 6, § 1.

The organization has 19 employees and conducts, among other things, outpatient care, counseling, conversation treatment, and preventive work with a particular focus on youth. Together with your colleague, you will work on and develop the work with the municipality's youth service and mediation assignments.
