Workplace Description
The Guidance and Support Unit is part of the Educational Department at LTH's administration.
The overarching goal is to support students in a way that leads to graduation. You will be part of a team of study and career counselors, social workers, and educational coordinators who drive and develop the operations based on shared principles. Within the unit, we also work with LTH's efforts regarding equal opportunities and working conditions for students. Those of us who work here have many different points of contact and collaborations. We offer regular supervision from a trained supervisor.

Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility
At LTH, your primary responsibilities as a counselor will be to support students both individually and in groups, as well as to participate in investigating, analyzing, and following up on LTH's work with equal opportunities and working conditions. You will participate in various projects with your colleagues but will independently drive your work. The work may be modified according to the needs of the organization.
Examples of tasks included in the role:
- Support conversations for students
- Collaboration with study and career counselors and various actors within Lund University, e.g., pedagogical student support, student health services, and student priests
- Consultative conversations with teachers and administrative staff
- Collaboration with the Student Union and sections for the various educational programs
- Preventive measures regarding equal opportunities and working conditions for LTH's students.
Qualifications
Requirements for the position are:
- Degree in social work or equivalent education
- Experience in counseling work
- Very good knowledge of conversation methodology
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as conversations and emails occur with both Swedish and English-speaking students
- Good ability to hold information and presentations in front of large groups in both Swedish and English
- Good ability to work in a structured manner.

You find it easy to collaborate with others, are proactive, and service-oriented. Consideration, attentiveness, good collaboration skills, and curiosity are qualities we highly value.
Meritorious for the position are:
- Further education in CBT
- Experience working in higher education/university
- Knowledge of and experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Experience collaborating with healthcare and other authorities
- Experience working with young adults
- Knowledge of and/or experience working with equal opportunities and diversity issues.
Consideration will be given to how the applicant, through their experience and competence, is assessed to complement and strengthen the work within the department and contribute to its future development. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Other
The position is a 9-month temporary position with a workload of 100 percent, starting in March 2026 or by agreement.
