JOB DESCRIPTION
As a residential support worker in social psychiatry, you will work with adults who have mental health issues and/or disabilities and who need support in their daily lives. You will be part of an organization with clear routines, established working methods, and good collaboration.
The residential support is an educational and psychosocial daily support provided in the individual's home and local environment. The support may include creating structure and routines, strengthening social contacts, and providing educational support in various everyday situations. The assignment is based on respect for the individual's self-determination and integrity, while also requiring an active, motivating, and outreach working method.
The purpose of the intervention is to:
- Strengthen the individual's independence
- Break social isolation
- Contribute to the person regaining or maintaining their functions and abilities
You design the support together with the individual based on individual needs and goals, which means that the tasks are varied and adapted to each person's life situation. The work also includes collaboration with colleagues, other professionals, relatives, and other important contacts around the client.
The working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine interest in people and understands the importance of interaction when working with individuals with mental health issues. You have a positive view of people, can work independently, and have a good ability to collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Is 18 years or older
- Has a vocational education with a focus on psychiatry/treatment
- Alternatively has a university degree in behavioral science, pedagogy, or another education that the employer assesses as equivalent
- Alternatively is studying in the above-mentioned fields and wishes to gain practical experience
- Has experience of similar independent work
- Holds a valid driver's license (B)
