Psychiatric Departments 20 and 50 with General Psychiatry Focus

We care for patients with various psychiatric diagnoses and have 16 care places. We are located at Nacka Hospital with 6 psychiatric neighboring departments. We work in interdisciplinary teams consisting of doctors, nursing assistants, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, and medical secretaries. We work based on person-centered care and the process map for psychiatric inpatient care, following the patient throughout the care process. We have regular supervision and reflection to facilitate nursing work.

We work from admission, investigation, planning, treatment, and nursing, discharge, and up to follow-up via outpatient care. The workplace is located at Nacka Hospital next to Ektorps centrum with good communications and close to nature.

Your Role as a Nursing Assistant

As a nursing assistant, you have an important role in nursing work and collaborate with your colleagues in various interdisciplinary teams. We actively work on developing patient participation, care plans, crisis plans, nursing plans, and concrete nursing measures.

Together with your professional and dedicated colleagues, you will be involved in our goal of providing psychiatric care of the highest quality. The tasks involve daily contact with patients, conversations, activities, nursing, and various tasks that occur on the ward.

Documentation is done in our system TakeCare. Through an empathetic approach, low-arousal responses combined with knowledge and commitment, we want to support our patients in finding hope and starting their journey towards recovery.

We also work with Safewards to create a safer psychiatric care environment by reducing threats, violence, and coercive measures, strengthening relationships and communication between patients and staff with a focus on patient involvement and social community.

Our Expectations of You

You have an interest in nursing and psychiatry, are curious, creative, and responsible. You have a good ability to collaborate with colleagues but can also work independently and make your own decisions when necessary. In nursing work, you always start from the patient's and relatives' resources and needs. Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing is a requirement.

You are a nursing assistant and/or a student, for example, in nursing, psychology, or medicine.

Requirements for Nursing Assistants:

• Proof of protected professional title for nursing assistants or an employer's certificate confirming that you had a permanent position as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023, in accordance with the transitional provisions (2021:739) in the Patient Safety Act (2010:659). If you are applying with an employer's certificate, you must attach your nursing assistant diploma.

We will have the greatest need for substitutes from midsummer until the end of August, with the possibility of extension if desired.
