About the position

At the Acute Assessment Unit, we are a small and close-knit team of doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants who work effectively together. There is extensive experience in acute care, cancer diagnoses, and patient flows within the Cancer Theme. We collaborate with the Intensive Care Unit as we are located in the same premises.

Your main tasks as a nurse consist of providing care for symptoms and side effects of cancer diseases and their treatments. You work independently, have readiness for acute changes, and continuously prioritize your work based on the patient's condition. The job includes telephone advice during evenings and weekends.

Patients coming to ABE are either admitted to a care ward or sent home. The unit is closed at night. Patients come through the emergency department or after phone calls from contact nurses/doctors, which means that the workload varies.

The position is a permanent employment. Working hours are scheduled Monday-Sunday between 08:00-21:00.

We are looking for someone who

• is interested in patients with cancer diagnoses and wants to develop in the field
• is confident in yourself and in your role as a nurse as you will meet severely ill patients at different stages of their illness and their relatives
• wants to learn in encounters with people in crisis, has the ability for an empathetic approach and attentiveness
• is good at communicating, takes responsibility, and strives for good collaboration.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Licensed nurse

Meritorious:

• Experience in oncology, surgery, or emergency care
• Experience in management work/coordinating
