Trygga Familjehem i Sverige AB is now looking for families/single individuals who want to help children & youth aged 0-20 years. We are seeking both foster homes and emergency homes.

Being an emergency home or foster home.

Being a foster home is interesting, challenging, and above all rewarding! It involves opening the doors to your home, your family, your daily life, and providing safety, guidelines, rules, and above all, a lot of joy and heart, as well as a desire to share your life.

This obviously presents a significant challenge and requires a clear ambition to succeed. This ambition must be shared by all family members, and a common understanding of what the task entails is of great importance. It is, of course, true that everyone is affected by a new individual moving in and becoming part of the family. Note that a single person can also be an emergency or foster home.

The most important thing is that you have a genuine interest in helping a child/youth to a better life. You must also be able to collaborate with all parties involved with the placed child/youth, such as schools, social workers, foster home consultants, etc.

To manage a placement, you need a little extra of everything; space, time, and ability! Our requirements for starting a foster home investigation include, among others:

• You must be 25 years or older
• You must not have a criminal record, be listed in the social insurance agency's register for long-term sick leave, the enforcement authority's register, or the social register in the last five years
• There must be a free bedroom available for the placed child, without any family member giving up their own bedroom. Note that shared spaces do not count as bedrooms.
• Your residence must be permanent, meaning you do not rent in a second-hand arrangement, are a lodger, or similar. The residence must be fully furnished and cozy.
• You must be fully healthy and able to work
• You must have a stable income and livelihood
• At least one of you must have time for meetings with social services and us foster home consultants
• You must not have any major upcoming life changes, such as moving, long trips, new studies, pregnancy, or similar
• You must be proficient in the Swedish language

Trygga Familjehem supports, guides, and educates

As a foster home, you will receive Trygga Familjehem's basic training for foster homes. The purpose is to make the placement as good as possible for both the placed individual and the foster home. Our consultants are always close at hand for ongoing guidance and education for the family during the placement. Your foster home consultant will visit you regularly, and you will have close cooperation in everything concerning the placed individual, e.g., implementation plans and authority contacts. You will have 24/7 support by phone for any questions you may have. Trygga Familjehem's working and relational approach is to be available, provide support, help, ideas, and motivation!

Good financial compensation

Opening your home to a child, youth, or young adult is not about money, but about helping someone who needs a safe and stable environment. However, you should still receive solid compensation for the work you do.

The compensation is paid out in two parts, one being a cost compensation of approximately 5800 SEK/month to cover food, clothing, travel, etc., and a fee component for the work you perform.

The fee varies from 24,000 SEK/month and upwards, depending on the complexity of the placement.
