Norra Västmanlands Kommunalteknikförbund, NVK, is a municipal federation where the members are the municipalities of Fagersta and Norberg. The main office is located in Fagersta with a local office in Norberg. The federation is responsible for the operation of housing, operational properties, streets and roads, water and sewage, parks, forests, recreational facilities, IT, and cleaning services. NVK is ultimately led by its board, appointed by the municipalities of Fagersta and Norberg. The board has overall responsibility, while the federation manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the organization. NVK has approximately 150 employees and a turnover of 400 million.

As a construction worker at NVK, you will have opportunities for a very varied everyday life! You will primarily be involved in developing and renewing the utility networks in the municipality.

Your Mission

We are now looking for a responsible and committed person for the position of construction worker with us at NVK. Your main tasks will consist of working with the maintenance and upkeep of the utility networks in Fagersta and/or Norberg. This includes maintenance and preventive work in both Fagersta and/or Norberg, as well as contact with our contractors and oversight of completed services. You will also assist other departments as needed.

Main Tasks:

• Municipal construction work
• Maintenance of the water and sewage networks
• Winter road maintenance

On-call duty is included in the position. Applicants must therefore be able to report to the workplace within 45 minutes.

Your Qualifications and Merits

You should have education as a civil engineer at the high school level or have gained similar experience in another way. A class C driver's license and professional competence certificate are highly meritorious and will be taken into account in the recruitment process. A manual transmission driver's license and a loader operator certificate are required.

It is also meritorious if you have training in road work, safe excavation, safe lifting, and food hygiene.

We would like you to have experience in:

• Construction work such as excavation, pipe laying, and backfilling.
• Knowledge of water and sewage systems, including water pipes, wastewater, and stormwater.
• The ability to read and interpret drawings, work descriptions, and utility maps.
• Working with machines and tools used in civil engineering and water and sewage work.
