Norra Västmanlands Kommunalteknikförbund, NVK, is a municipal federation with members from the municipalities of Fagersta and Norberg. The main office is located in Fagersta with a branch office in Norberg. The federation is responsible for the operation of housing, commercial properties, streets and roads, water and sewage, parks, forests, recreational facilities, IT, and cleaning services. NVK is ultimately led by its board, appointed by the municipalities of Fagersta and Norberg. The board has overall responsibility, while the federation manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the organization. NVK has about 150 employees and a turnover of 400 million.

We are looking for a dedicated and responsible maintenance worker who wants to be part of our team in the street department in both Fagersta and Norberg.

Your mission

As a maintenance worker, you will play a central role in ensuring that our streets and roads, parks, and playgrounds are in top condition to meet the needs of residents and ensure smooth infrastructure for the community. You will be an important link in maintaining and improving our communication with citizens by responding to their needs and feedback in an effective and professional manner.

Main tasks:

• Municipal maintenance work; Streets, roads, parks, and playgrounds
• Performing maintenance of the road network
• Winter road maintenance

On-call duty is included in the position. Applicants must therefore be able to report to the workplace within 45 minutes.

Your qualifications and merits

We prefer that you have an education as a civil engineering worker at the high school level or that you have acquired similar experience in another way. Previous work in street and park maintenance is highly meritorious and demonstrates your ability to handle the demands and challenges that come with the role.

Technical skills: It is of great importance that you are handy and have a good technical understanding. Being able to handle various tools and machines is an important part of the job, so previous experience in this is desirable.

Driver's license for wheel loader and driver's license: To perform certain tasks, a driver's license for wheel loader handling is required. This is a necessary competency to ensure that the work is carried out safely and efficiently. We also expect you to have a driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle. This is a requirement for the position.
