Specialist Nurse to the Defense Health Care at Göta Engineer Regiment
About the Unit
The Defense Health Care is the Swedish Armed Forces' own occupational health service and is represented at all garrison locations in the country. The operation is responsible for health care for conscripts and students as well as occupational health care for employed personnel.
Within the Eksjö garrison, several of the Armed Forces' organizational units are located, with Göta Engineer Regiment (Ing 2) and the Total Defense Ammunition and Mine Clearance Center (SWEDEC) being the largest.
Main Responsibilities
At Defense Health Care Eksjö, you will work in a multidisciplinary team consisting of doctors, psychologists, nurses, physiotherapists, and administrative staff. The work is characterized by great variation over time and includes daily reception work for conscripts, occupational health care for employed personnel, and medical readiness in the field during exercises.
As a Specialist Nurse at Defense Health Care, you will primarily work with:
- Health care at the primary care level for conscripts and cadets
- Work-related health care for employed personnel
- Conducting statutory examinations, health checks, and vaccinations
- Medical support during military exercises and participation in military medical training
Qualifications
- Licensed nurse with at least five years of clinical work experience in Sweden
- Further education in, for example, district nursing, occupational health care, intensive care, anesthesia, ambulance care, or another specialty deemed equivalent by the employer
- Very good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written
- Driver's license (B)
Meritorious
- Experience from military operations or voluntary defense organizations
- Training and experience as a CPR instructor
