The Role of the Psychologist

The psychologist in the neuropsychiatric team plays a crucial role in working with young children through developmental assessments and neuropsychiatric investigations that provide increased understanding of the child's strengths and needs. Based on the knowledge of the child's functioning, advice and support are given to caregivers, as well as support to networks such as preschools and schools.

By participating in team discussions and network meetings, the psychologist contributes expertise regarding the child's cognitive and emotional development and collaborates with caregivers and other professionals to create early and sustainable interventions that promote the child's development.

The rehabilitation center serves individuals with:

• intellectual disabilities
• permanent motor disabilities that are congenital or acquired during childhood, such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, or muscular dystrophy
• neuropsychiatric disabilities in combination with intellectual disabilities
• acquired brain injuries with permanent cognitive impairment equivalent to intellectual disabilities
• significant visual impairment, blindness, or deafblindness
• deafness, hearing impairment, deafblindness, sound sensitivity, tinnitus, or other hearing-related disabilities.

Your Profile

We are looking for an experienced licensed psychologist with experience working with children with autism. We prefer that you have experience in assessments of young children in preschool age, as well as experience working with various forms of parental support, positive behavioral support, or other types of interventions related to the target group. We appreciate if you tell us which aspects of rehabilitation work attract you in your personal letter.

As a person, you have a good understanding of how individuals acquire knowledge based on their conditions and can adapt your communication to the person you meet. You are a calm, secure, and stable person with good self-awareness, possess good collaboration skills, and have an empathetic approach. Your work as a psychologist is very significant for those we meet.

To thrive with us, it is beneficial that you have a genuine interest in working with the rehabilitation center's target groups. You look forward to complex and creative tasks and want to influence and develop the operations. We also appreciate a positive attitude towards new digital opportunities. You have a good ability to independently plan, organize, and prioritize your work and can adapt to changing circumstances.

Supervision and regular professional meetings are available for you as a psychologist. You will always be close to your team and your psychologist colleagues, as several psychologists work within child, youth, and adult rehabilitation, both at the unit and the clinic.

To best create good conditions for flexibility, we apply annual working hours, which means you can partially influence your working hours and planning yourself. Additionally, a small part of the work can be done remotely.

The position is full-time, but the degree of employment can be discussed. Start date by agreement.
