The geriatric emergency care department in Helsingborg works with the elderly population. Our patients often have unique care needs and multiple underlying diseases, with dementia and heart failure being among the most significant. We work in interdisciplinary teams with a focus on the patient and their relatives. We meet patients both with acute illnesses and those in the end stages of life. Work in the department is carried out in interdisciplinary teams where doctors, nurses, care assistants, physiotherapists, dietitians, secretaries, pharmacists, and occupational therapists work together.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for two new colleagues to join us! Our Geriatric Emergency Care Department in Helsingborg has several operations under development, which provides you as an employee with excellent opportunities for growth.

Our working method is based on close and unpretentious collaboration between all professional categories in the department to provide qualitative and safe care to our patients. We work according to Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA), which is a structured approach to caring for the elderly, meaning that the patient is assessed physically, mentally, functionally, existentially, and socially. This mapping then forms the basis for continued care and planning.

Work in the department is varied and stimulating, where you as a care assistant actively work with your team and are involved in the care and planning of the patient. In the geriatric department, we consider each patient's needs and aim to preserve health and meet the patient in their wishes and desires.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a trained care assistant and meet the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you have studied according to previous or current program structures. We prefer that you have a specialization in elderly care and/or dementia care. Good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are a requirement. If you have experience working in elderly care and dementia care, this is considered an advantage for the position.

When it comes to you as a person, you enjoy working in a team and have good collaboration skills. Furthermore, you are engaged and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. Attention to detail and a good attitude are a given for you. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Please note that you need to provide certificates/transcripts (not just a diploma) from your care assistant education for your application to be considered complete. If you have received your certificate for a protected professional title, this must also be attached to your application. You need to present proof of a protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed on July 1, 2023. If you do not have this proof, you will be employed as a nursing assistant, and the employment will be temporary, pending the proof.
