About the Role

Vattenfall Services Teknikakademi is a 7-month program where you get the chance to specialize as either a Control Systems Engineer or a Designer. The training includes both practical work in your intended department and digital lectures led by the University of Väst.

The program starts in the fall of 2026 with a joint introduction for all new employees. In addition to deepening your technical knowledge, you will also gain a large network. You will complete the theoretical components together with the other participants in the Teknikakademin and will receive support from experienced colleagues who help you develop in the role.

As a Designer, you will belong to a department consisting of several Designers whose main task is to draw the electrical design for substations and power plants in CAD. The designs include, among other things, circuit diagrams, connection tables, cabinet layouts, and relay block diagrams. These can be complete electrical designs as well as design adaptations.

Vattenfall Services does not own any substations or power plants but always works on our customers' facilities. As a Designer, you primarily work from the office but also conduct some field visits.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who is driven, curious, and enjoys solving complex problems. You work in a structured manner and always have safety in focus — with us at Vattenfall Services, safety always comes first.

You have a strong technical interest and appreciate working closely with others. As a Designer, you will have many points of contact and therefore need to be skilled at collaborating with different professional groups and stakeholders, both internally and externally.

We know that you will develop together with us, but we would like you to already have:

• Higher vocational education or higher in electrical power, electrical network design, preparation, or project planning that concludes no later than spring 2026. Alternatively, you are currently working as an industrial electrician, substation or signal technician, automation technician, preparer, or designer/projector within property, electricity, or electrical power.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
• Driving license B.

Location

Vattenfall Services is located all over the country, and we are looking for new colleagues in several locations. Possible locations are Västerås, Malmö, and Helsingborg. Please indicate your desired location in your application.

About the Program & Position

The Teknikakademin is a company-specific training program conducted in collaboration with the University of Väst in Trollhättan. The various courses in the training are examined, and after completing the program, you will receive 21 university credits. The courses are conducted digitally, but a few laboratory sessions will take place on-site in Trollhättan, and therefore you need to be able to travel during the training period.

We offer you a permanent position with an initial probationary period. You will receive a salary during the training period, and after you have completed the training with a passing result, you will continue to work in your department in a permanent position.
