Your Responsibilities
The position is located in the research group I DID IT (Intellectual Disability Integrating Digital Intervention Technology for health) at Linköping University, an interdisciplinary research environment where PhD students, postdocs, senior researchers, and research leaders from various professional backgrounds work closely together.
The research is conducted for and with individuals with intellectual disabilities, in close collaboration with relatives, interest organizations, healthcare, social services, and other relevant community actors. The work is linked to ongoing and planned research projects within health promotion, development, evaluation, and implementation of digital health-promoting interventions, focusing on health, participation, and support for lifestyle changes, as well as research in cancer prevention.
Your main tasks include:
- planning, conducting, and analyzing empirical studies (qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed methods),
- independent responsibility for writing and publishing scientific articles in international journals,
- collaboration with national and international researchers and partners.
As a postdoc, you will primarily conduct research. Teaching may also be included in the responsibilities, but no more than one-fifth of the working time.
Your Qualifications
To be eligible for the postdoctoral position, you must have a doctoral degree or a foreign degree that is deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree. Your degree must be obtained no later than the time the employment decision is made.
It is advantageous if your degree was obtained no more than three years before the application deadline for this position. If there are special reasons, those who obtained their doctoral degree earlier may also be considered, for example, due to various types of statutory leave.
We are looking for candidates with a doctoral degree in public health sciences, social medicine, disability research, rehabilitation science, social work, medicine, nursing science, or other related fields. Your previous research area is not decisive, as the position offers good opportunities to engage in and further develop health-promoting research in the field of intellectual disabilities. Special emphasis will be placed on the applicant's overall scientific experiences, competencies, and interests. You have documented experience in empirical research, as well as some experience in research in or in close collaboration with healthcare, social services, and/or schools. You have an excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English. You are independent, analytical, and structured, with good collaborative skills and an interest in working in interdisciplinary and collaboration-intensive research environments, both within and outside academia.
Your Workplace
You will work at the Department of Health, Medicine, and Care (HMV), Linköping University.
