Vattenfall Hydropower is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and about 300 dams in the Nordic region. We have about 500 employees in Sweden and Finland, with our headquarters in Luleå. The renewable electricity production from hydropower is a prerequisite for creating a climate-smart and fossil-free society, where we play an important role as enablers for the sustainable energy systems of the future. Our production corresponds to about 25% of Sweden's total electricity needs. To deliver high availability in our production, we must constantly challenge ourselves, develop our working methods, and take advantage of digital opportunities. You will be an important part of that work.
About the Role
As a temporary production technician during the summer period, you will work with operation and maintenance tasks at the power station to ensure that the facilities are available for energy production. The role provides practical experience of the daily operations of hydropower and insight into how the operation is kept stable and safe.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct rounds in the facility
- Participate in periodic maintenance work at the power stations
- Contribute to keeping the facilities in good technical condition and able to produce energy safely and efficiently
The work is particularly suitable for students in hydropower technology, electrical engineering, or energy technology, and provides a valuable opportunity to see the operations in practice and build relevant experience for the future.
Requirements
Mandatory
- Ongoing studies
- Good knowledge of Swedish
Preferred
- Studies at a university, college, or vocational school
- Focus on hydropower
- High school education in electrical or energy fields
- Good knowledge of English
