Within the Care and Welfare Administration, we have full-time as the norm. This means that all permanent employees essentially have a full-time position. More information about what this means for this position will be provided during a potential interview. Personal assistants are exempt from the full-time norm.

Årstagården elderly home is a care and welfare residence focused on individuals with dementia. Årstagården has 79 places distributed across 5 departments.
Job Description
As a nursing assistant, you will work with a variety of tasks. You play an important role in direct contact with our clients, providing personal care and service efforts that make a difference in their daily lives. You work every day to provide good care with great consideration for the clients' individual needs.
Your work includes:
- Performing delegated tasks from licensed personnel.
- Documenting according to the Social Services Act and applicable routines.
- Creating and maintaining good contact with clients, relatives, licensed personnel, and other important contacts.
- Actively participating in teamwork around the clients.
- Working with palliative care in the end-of-life stage when needed.
- Contributing to the development of the operations and your own professional development.
- Collaborating closely with colleagues in daily work.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant with a protected professional title according to the requirements of the National Board of Health and Welfare. In this role, you will meet patients, relatives, and colleagues every day. Therefore, you need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, to contribute to safe communication and document according to applicable routines. You should feel comfortable receiving and working under delegation. We consider experience in elderly care and dementia care to be an advantage.
As a person, you are calm and stable and can maintain control even when it is stressful. You can quickly determine what is most important in a situation and focus on that. Furthermore, you find it easy to collaborate with others. You listen and communicate clearly and resolve conflicts in a good and constructive manner. In your interactions, you are friendly, attentive, and helpful. You enjoy taking responsibility and strive to find solutions that make a difference in people's daily lives.

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is protected. To use the title of nursing assistant, you need to provide proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate showing that you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023. If you have nursing assistant training but lack proof or a certificate, you may be granted the title of care assistant during a transitional period.
We will request a criminal record extract before an employment offer can be made.
In your application, you must state your citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must also be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only occur after verification of the work permit, which is required under the Aliens Ordinance.
Employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve a military placement.
