About Us

Region Sörmland is one of the largest employers in the county with approximately 9000 employees. The Medical Clinic in Nyköping is an internal medicine facility responsible for medical investigations, care and treatment, nursing, and consultation services in both outpatient and inpatient care. The commitment involves both acute and planned activities. The acute operations are primarily conducted in the emergency department and inpatient care, while the planned activities are carried out in the medical outpatient clinic, treatment department, and kidney unit. Inpatient care is conducted in collaboration with the acute care department, medical wards, our medical intermediate care unit, and the intensive care unit. We have subspecialists and resident doctors in medical teams for endocrinology, hematology, gastroenterology, neurology, cardiology, nephrology, and COPD teams.

Your Responsibilities

As a resident doctor, you will primarily work in the ward and emergency department in close collaboration with nurses and other doctors. As a licensed physician, you will also engage in outpatient activities and consultations. With us, you will have the opportunity to grow and develop in your role as a physician, working independently with guidance from experienced colleagues. All resident doctors have an assigned supervisor.

Your Qualifications

We prefer that you have a medical license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare, alternatively a medical degree in Sweden or another Nordic country, or a decision from the National Board of Health and Welfare to complete general service. For those who are medical students studying at a Swedish faculty, it is required that you have completed studies up to and including the tenth semester with approved courses and exams in the specialty for which you are applying.

We also expect you to have knowledge of the Swedish language equivalent to Swedish high school or Swedish C1 according to the Council of Europe’s level scale, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you have previous experience from Swedish healthcare. We place great emphasis on personal qualities and references.
