Within the Care and Social Services Administration, we have full-time as the norm. This means that all permanent employees essentially have a full-time position. Our workgroup in the dementia department is a very well-functioning team with a high degree of independence, trust, and competence. As an employee, you will work closely with colleagues, licensed staff, and management, including daily check-ins, regular individual conversations with management, and close collaboration with nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. All with the aim that all employees feel they can provide the best care possible for our residents.

With us, animals are a natural part of care, which means you need to feel comfortable with their presence. We see animals as a source of calm and therapeutic effect for our residents, and therefore they are close to our departments and part of the daily work. In addition, we cultivate and aim to develop cultivation on a larger scale in the future. Dalbyhemmet is beautifully located by Dalbyviken, 15 kilometers south of Uppsala. However, bus connections are limited. Therefore, it is important that you consider your ability to get to us.

Your tasks

As a nursing assistant, you will work days, evenings, and every other weekend, just like everywhere else. You will carry out care, training, activities, medication management, wound care, and other similar tasks.

You will also be highly involved in the care of our total of 11 animals; 5 chickens, 2 rabbits, and 4 cats. In addition to the above, you are expected to take an active role in our ongoing development work, where we truly welcome other perspectives, innovative thinking, and initiative. At Dalbyhemmet's care department, there are two focuses; dementia and social psychiatry. We are currently recruiting 3 people for our dementia department.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant with a protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare. To succeed in the role, you need to feel secure in receiving delegations. We consider experience in dementia care as an advantage. The work also requires that you have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

As a person, you are secure and have self-awareness. You distinguish between the personal and the professional. You adapt your behavior to the situation. Furthermore, you take responsibility for your tasks and structure your work approach independently. Last but not least, you work well with others and relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner.

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is protected. To use the title nursing assistant, you must present proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023. If you have nursing assistant training but lack proof or certificate, you may, during a transition period, receive the title of care assistant.

We will request a criminal record extract before employment can be offered.

In your application, you must state your citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must also be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only occur after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.

Employment with Uppsala municipality may involve a military placement.
