Assistant Nurse to Lung Department 109L

At our lung department 109L, we have a competent and well-functioning team of doctors, nurses, and assistant nurses. During the day, there is a coordinator who manages and coordinates the daily operations of the department, we have a care planner who assists with planning for patients' discharge, as well as physiotherapists and occupational therapists responsible for the rehabilitation efforts for our patients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an assistant nurse with us, you will have a varied and exciting job that provides you with a broad competence. The work is diverse with both acutely and chronically ill patients of all ages, and the pace varies along with the tasks. You will care for patients with pulmonary diseases such as asthma, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, and lung cancer. The position includes standard tasks in an acute lung care department.

As an assistant nurse with us, you will work with:

• basic nursing care
• dressing changes and various sampling after delegation.

With us, you will receive:

• mentorship with experienced colleagues
• two weeks of introduction.

Your initial time with us will be a learning period regarding pulmonary medical care, such as being able to initiate inhalations, manage patients with oxygen, learn nursing, dressing changes, and various sampling after delegation.

The position involves day and evening work throughout the week.

You thrive in a varied workday and have the ability to quickly adapt to different situations. You should also have good collaboration skills and be responsible, as well as have the interest, will, and ability to help others.

In the role of assistant nurse, you should:

• be a trained assistant nurse.

For this position, it is an advantage if you have previous experience working in an inpatient department and experience in pulmonary care.

Information about the title Assistant Nurse

As of July 1, 2023, the title assistant nurse became a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title assistant nurse within healthcare and social services. You can apply for the certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in healthcare and social services, but with a different title than assistant nurse. In Region Gävleborg, this means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant until your certificate is submitted.
