Amf 1/Garrison Unit/Training and Firing Range Department

The Garrison Unit at Amf 1 is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the firing ranges at Berga, Utö, Väddö, and the archipelago firing ranges.

Main Responsibilities

The tasks are sometimes very varied. The position includes the receipt and delivery of target materials as well as the implementation of operational and maintenance measures on machines, shooting ranges, firing fields, boats, and target materials. Closing and restricting firing ranges are part of the job. The work also involves some welding and carpentry, operating various construction machinery, ammunition clearance, and staffing the shooting safety center.

The position may involve work at all of Amf 1's firing ranges as needed. There are elements of solitary work, as well as service during evenings and weekends.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Basic school diploma
  • Several years of experience in transport, construction, or IT.
  • Driver's license class B

Personal Qualities

The position as a service technician requires responsibility, independence, creativity, cooperation, and an outgoing nature. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and ability to collaborate.

DESIRABLE

  • High school diploma
  • Driver's license class BE, C, CE.
  • Certificate (training) for forklift, wheel loader, or other construction machinery.
  • Proficiency in Office suite.
  • IT/Network skills.
  • Previous work within the Armed Forces, primarily regarding shooting safety.
  • Completed military service or basic military training (GMU).

Other

Employment type: civilian, permanent. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the authority.

Employment rate: Full-time, evening and night work may occur.

Work location: Väddö, service may periodically occur at other locations where Amf 1 operates.

Start date: by agreement.

The Stockholm Amphibious Regiment (Amf 1) operates where water meets land and serves as the link between naval and army combat forces. Fast-moving combat boats and hovercraft make the unit agile. Our weapon systems allow us to operate in four dimensions: on and below the water's surface, in the air, and on land. Thus, we can exert control over coastal areas.

The unit trains amphibious soldiers, coastal rangers, sailors, and officers in various main services. Amf 1 is responsible for the production of the war unit 2nd Amphibious Battalion and 2nd Marine Base Battalion. The unit is based in Haninge (Berga).
