The Central Hospital in Kristianstad (CSK) is the emergency hospital for northeastern Skåne. Here, emergency care is provided around the clock by competent and dedicated staff. CSK has the resources of a large hospital and the closeness and community of a smaller hospital. We have approximately 2,600 employees.

The Urology Department (VO) has been an independent department at CSK since September 1, 2022, tasked with both planned and emergency urology. We have a broad operation focused on both benign and malignant urological conditions, and since 2022 we also perform robot-assisted cancer surgery. At the outpatient clinic, which is fully equipped, we have nearly 11,000 visits per year, and the forecast is rising. Our department has 16–24 beds for urological surgery, tailored for patients being treated for urological diseases.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now announcing two medical intern positions with primary duties in the urology and vascular surgery department in Kristianstad!

On a typical day with us, your responsibilities will include rounds together with the responsible physician. In the role of a medical intern, you will also engage in admissions, documentation, consultations with other specialists, and more. Some weekend work may be required. Depending on interest and experience, there is the possibility of participating in outpatient work and surgery.

Some flexibility exists regarding the start and end dates for the internship, for example, in case of acceptance into a residency program or a desire for extension. Primarily, it concerns 2 internships of 6 months each with the possibility of extension.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a medical degree or has completed up to the 10th semester of medical education and is thus eligible to work as a temporary non-licensed medical intern on a general exemption. Documented language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required. For foreign medical degrees, documentation from the National Board of Health and Welfare must be presented to prove that you are eligible to work as a physician in Sweden.

As a person, you are curious and can take initiative. You have high social competence and see it as a given to meet your patients in the best way. Furthermore, you find it easy to collaborate, are flexible, and possess good communication skills. Since we are keen to find the right people for the positions, great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
