Assistive Technology Technician in Hearing

The assistive technology services are responsible for the operation of assistive technology for people with mobility impairments in the southern part of Stockholm County, as well as county-wide responsibility for individuals in need of consumable assistive devices at home, medical technical equipment at home, and communication, cognition, vision, and hearing aids.

KommSyn's county-wide responsibility and product range in Stockholm includes communication, cognition, vision, or hearing aids. In the southern part of Stockholm County, we are responsible for remote systems/environmental control and proximity alarms.

Job Responsibilities:

As an assistive technology technician in hearing, you will perform repairs and refurbishment as well as simpler assembly/installation of hearing aids. Administration is a significant part of the daily work. You will provide advice and support to patients and prescribers when they encounter issues with hearing aids. You are also expected to contribute to the development of the service.

Qualifications:

We are looking for someone with relevant education and/or experience in the assistive technology area of hearing, or what we consider equivalent. You have excellent knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

The tasks require flexibility and a structured approach to work.

Other:

A probationary period of 6 months may apply.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week.

Interviews may take place during the application period.

The position is filled on the condition that it does not need to be reserved for internal relocation, according to current regulations.

For patient-related work within the Stockholm County healthcare area:

  • background checks will be applied before hiring decisions according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks during employment.
  • employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment medical examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment.
  • in addition to Swedish professional certification, good knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply to non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
